Frigidaire FFU21F5HW Customer Review

This review is from Frigidaire FFU21F5HW :I ought to place my a pair of cents in. I sincerely would like i might done a lot of research before I bought this unit. Instead, I went to a neighborhood appliance store where I’ve done business for years. I bought a new fridge and freezer at a similar time, and chose Frigidaire for each thanks to their so-called smart name.
There was nothing wrong with our recent freezer (25 years) apart from it wasn’t frost free, and my wife was bored with defrosting it, hence the new frost free unit.
The unit worked great. could not be happier. Until.. when five months, my son was awakened to the alarm. It had quit working. Wasn’t happy, but these items Do happen. called the quantity on the freezer, and was told they’d send someone out. However, being as we have a tendency to live out within the country, they solely send someone out once every week. Wasn’t real happy this but what can you do?
that the driver finally gets there days later, and diagnoses it needing the electronic management module. which in fact… he does not have on board; he’ll ought to order it. Not happy, but again, what can you do? thus he orders it, has it shipped to our house. However, it’ll be another week before he will return. Finally, the half comes and therefore the tech is called, and we’re back in business. An ordeal needless to say, but at least that is over, right?
WRONG! Four months later, the unit dies again! And it’s the same song and dance everywhere again. now I question the tech regarding being a recurring drawback with these models. He says they “Usually do not have a problem”. Here’s where the “fun” begins. He “tests?” the outlet it’s plugged into. and claims it’s faulty. Says the “Voltage in bleeding from the new lead to the grounding wire”. fascinating. apart from that being impossible (It would trip a breaker) I put in that outlet myself. it is a stand alone circuit to the box, and that i am an electrician by trade. Nonetheless, I check over the circuit again, and no drawback
Anyway, it had been running again, but solely 2 months left on the 12 month warranty. I called Frigidaire solely to seek out out that they’re now
owned by Electrolux. Told them I’ve had a pair of food losses and that we each know this thing goes to die again. What are they willing to try and do regarding it? Nothing. Their response is basically, “It’s warrantied for 12 months, and we’ve mounted it, thus we’ve done all that is necessary.”
the seller refuses to try and do anything regarding it either. Up till this point, i have been polite, but persistent, but the message is obvious. we have a tendency to got your money; you’re on your own.
every week before the warranty ran out, I called them again and said there was a retardant again. Again, they called the tech, the tech called me, and said he’d ought to build a service call again. I told him, “Look, we have a tendency to each know the matter is the management board. can’t you only order it now, and are available when it arrives?” He reluctantly agrees and a number of days later, I even have another board. Mind you, the freezer hadn’t actually quit… yet. but at least I now have an impact board on hand.
Four months later, it dies once more. now I even have a spare board on hand, thus i don’t have yet one more food loss. (It solely takes regarding 10 minutes to put the board in) i don’t bother to call the tech out. If I had, i might have suffered a food loss. As a precaution, I order ANOTHER management board to keep on hand ($55, plus shipping)
Last week, I had to put THAT one in.

So in closing, I’ve now had five management boards in but three years. I emailed Electrolux again, and asked if there was anything they would do regarding it. I received the form letter that primarily said.. “If anything fails, it always does it within the warranty amount. after that we have a tendency to can’t/ will not be accountable.”
i am probing for a RELIABLE freezer to replace this 3 yr recent unit. Before I even have to shop for the SIXTH board for this freezer.
